Pumpkin, Roland System 100, TR-808, Arp Odyssey, Korg MS-10

Pumpkin has an impressive set of vintage synthesizers, including the Roland System 100 modular, Roland TR-808 drum machine, ARP Odyssey, and Korg MS-10. From Lowfish on Twitter.

This is the setup for the track “c100” on the forthcoming Lowfish album “Grey With Breaks.” Pumpkin (my cat) gets ZERO credit for her contributions to this record. You can pre-order the limited edition “cloudy grey” LP version from Bleep here:

Please check out their new album. And we at CatSynth are here to recognize Pumpkin’s contributions.

Albert with Korg Electribe, Roland SH-101, Elektron Digitone, more

Albert has found a nice sunny spot in the studio. We see a Roland SH-101, Korg Eletribe, and Elektron Digitone next to him. It appears that he is sitting on a Roland TB-303 (or similar) with a dark panel, and another rhythm machine.

Nicolai, Korg Microsampler, Alesis Drums and Compressor

Nicholai sits comfortably in front of a Korg Microsampler and Alesis drum machine and compressor. He also happens to be the brother of Hookah the Cat, whom we have featured many times here on CatSynth.

From Darren Douglas Danahy via Facebook.

Hookah the Cat is always getting on the CatSynth page for playing on my keyboards… Nicolai however, likes to hang out on the other side of the room by the Alesis drums & compressor along with the Korg microsampler, Kustom guitar amp, and Roland guitar synth. He actually likes to take the drumsticks from the area and play with them.

Sounds like Nicolai is becoming quite the drummer in his own way 😹

Olive, Korg DW8000, Yamaha MOTIF

Tab cat sitting and looking at the camera. Behind her are two keyboards stacked - a Korg DW8000 and a Yamaha MOTIF

The lovely Olive returns, this time with a Korg DW8000 and Yamaha MOTIF. From Charles Whiley on Facebook.

I have been fascinated for a little while with DW8000. I encountered it back in the 1980s, but it was overshadowed for me by offerings from Yamaha, Roland, and Ensoniq. It came back to my attention a few years ago, and I started looking for an EX8000 (the rack version) – ultimately, I settled on its new successor, the Korg modwave.

You can see Olive’s previous appearances via her tag.

Hookah the Cat, Roland, Korg

Hookah the cat is back! This time he has a Korg Microsampler, Roland JD-8000, and Roland PianoPlus 70.

You can hear some of Hookah’s music here:
