Sinful Synclaviers! Frank Zappa's Feeding the Monkeys at Ma Maison

A review of Frank Zappa’s Feeding the Monkeys at Ma Maison. We examine this posthumous album of music for Synclavier as a crucial link between Jazz from Hell and Civilization …Phase 3. The discussion highlights the complexity compositions as well as some of the ways Frank pushed the limits of the Synclavier’s capabilities (even the souped-up model he had when this was recorded in 1986). Definitely worth a listen for anyone interested in Zappa’s more esoteric output, or adventurous electronic music in general.
