I had not seen this particular view of the Golden Gate bridge until the day of my performance the Headlands Center for the Arts in Marin. It was taken at Fort Baker in Marin. I like that one sees not only the bridge and the fog (both iconic), but the dilapidated dock and that odd triangular structure in the foreground.
You’ve already said what I would say. I’ve been to Marin but I don’t ever remember seeing the bridge from this perspective. The fog is perfect and the composition wonderful. Nice!
It’s like looking back in time at a view from the early twentieth century. The fog drifting in gives it a lot of depth – strange, ghostly and almost detached. Very atmospheric.
I love seeing the fog and bridge together, too!
I love this shot! The fog, the bridge, great capture!
Looks like a very old picture in black and white !
Beautiful. I’ve never seen the bridge in real life, and this is just fantastic!
Neat shot!
I love the composition with the old dock and the top of the bridge shrouded in fog.

Wow. That is a beautiful capture!!!
That bridge seems to be a delicate imposition on that landscape.

I’ve never been to Fort Baker either. So many places in the bay area for that make interesting photography. I like how you included the dock to give a perspective of where you were.
I’m another one who has never been there, but this has such a moody feel, even if I’m not there in person. Like the b/w, too. Adds atmosphere to the view.
This pic can be in a scene of a movie. Very nice. 🙂
