  1. This is one of the new pieces I created for this season’s Open Studios in San Francisco. It’s an abstract portrait featuring geometric elements, fashion, and highway symbolism. The piece on display is titled “California 41”, just like this post.

For those in the Bay Area, my Open Studios will be this weekend at Art Explosion, 2425 17th Street in San Francisco, on both Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6PM.

Please use this comment space to leave your thoughts and questions, just as if you were seeing it in person and talking to the artist.

  2. That is very interesting. You have to wonder if she fell or what happened. But great picture. Hope you do great in your show. Take care.

  3. I like how the sign pops in the otherwise black and white photograph. And also how there are so many different lines — the grain of the floorboards, the model’s shirt, her body, etc.

  4. Wonderful idea to “speak” to you as if I was able to meet you in person at the show. Should have thought of this a long time ago! I’d have been at each and every show, at least here… You have a great model. I don’t know if she is the same model you have used in previous compositions, but she’s really good at creating dramatic poses that make me look. And I love the black and white treatment. It would be fun in reverse, too, don’t you think? The model in color and the sign in black and white or maybe even manipulated with a fancy plug-in?

  5. I am not familiar with this freeway, but it now has me intrigued. Good luck on your open studios.

Regarding my post, the fair in the city this past weekend was the Sunday Streets in the Excelsior District.
