This photo shows part of the Wave Organ, a sculpture along the waterfront where the action of the wave interacts with a series of pipes to produce very musical sounds. It was an added stop at the end of the SF Thomassons Performance Tour which I reviewed yesterday.
Well, that is certainly an interesting conglomeration of things. Happy WW!
Neat! It reminds me of gigantic eyes on the end of gigantic stalks, but is still very cool 🙂
Oh, I bet that’s really neat to listen to.
Interestng! I can’t help but think of a mosaic. 🙂
That’s quite a find. Wow a wave organ. I’d love to hear it. I haven’t been to the City in a very long time.
Had never thought of an organ ! Looks like simple tubes to me, lol !
Gosh, I would love to hear what that sounds like! My Mommeh heard an organ inside of Luray caverns once.
I hear the music!
Well, I’ve never knew there were such things as wave organs. I would love to hear what it sounds like.
I have never heard of the like before. I love it! Thanks for sharing this
I like that shot so much. The different shapes and textures are very interesting photographically.
I’ve never seen nor heard of such a thing, but it sounds very fascinating. This is a lovely shot – the textures and contrast are so interesting.
What an interesting object. I wonder what kind of noise it makes!
Wow… we’ll have to visit and isten to the waves musical rhythms, I’m off to read your previous post and learn more…
WOW!! Not quite what I was expecting 😉
The wave organ is most unusual looking.
I bet the sound would be most interesting
We have a sculpture along our waterfront that looks like a …wave
(or a giant tongue to some people) hahaha
It does not “do” anything except provide a place for kids to try to climb 🙂
Looks like a bit of a face to me.
I have heard of this place, but never seen it myself. I can almost imagine the sound it makes during a foggy day.
Glad you explained it – would like to hear the sounds it makes!
