Looks like a parking structure to avoid.
Are they doing construction on the site? I’m wondering if the “Parking” sign is no longer valid!
This is, as my architectural images often are, taken out of context. The parking garage is actually through a tunnel below the building in the picture. So it’s a perfectly good place to park (though I never park downtown, I just walk).
under construction still?
All those textures suggest so much going on downtown. My eyes looked up, and I thought of all those folks at work up there in their chairs and all those cars coming and going. The pulse of urban life.
wow–wonder what happened?
It doesn’t look like the building in front was built very well!
ps: The For Luna piece is beautiful.
Ouch.. it doesn’t look good. Be extra cautious please.
Love the sign! Looks like that part of the building was a vintage structure before the addition of the massive parking garage?
What contrast between the parking sign and the textures of the building.
I passed by here only a few days ago. From your picture, it seems like they tore down a structure next door, but have not removed all the sharp objects on the outside of the building. Regarding the Amazon women pictures you commented on, they are located in Auburn, CA sculpted by a local dentist.
Very interesting. Reminds me of some of the old Greyhound Stations I used to photograph – the signs are still there for show only.
Finding Parking is a real challenge in the city and costly! If you can find a reasonably priced parking garage mark it on your map!
@AVCr8teur is correct, there is a vacant lot (presumably from a building that was torn down) in front of this building, i.e., towards the camera.
@Sukhmandir no idea of this parking lot has reasonable rates or not. I live close enough to Chinatown and the downtown area that I walk rather than drive. It’s funny, I just got back from a walk where several people asked me where they should park 🙂
I like how it’s an obviously older sign next to a newer building…mixing of times and textures.
I think I would look for another parking place, lol !
Good strong geometrics, and I like the juxtaposition of textures and materials.

Nice shot! Sometimes it is fun to take my camera and walk around towns and cities taking pictures of signs and buildings just to see what you get.
You do find the most interesting pics 🙂
It is nice to see bits of your city though.
The parking lot needs a bit of TLC,just to keep things pretty 🙂
Is the parking garage actually open? Hope the cars are parked far from that spot.
I’m excited to be finally posting online after all these years. There really is no mystique (sp) about it, is there? I just dropped by your blog and had to write. I’m a recent college grad, journalism major if you must know, and I absolutely love the art of photography. I’ve got my site up but it’s nothing to brag about yet. None of my stuff’s been posted. Soon as I figure out how to do that, I’ll spend the day posting my best pictures. anyways just thought I’d drop a line. I hope to return with more substantial stuff, stuff you can actually use. SPG
