Docks near Mission Rock in the Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco (more info in the comments).

This was taken a couple of years ago along the Central Waterfront in San Francisco. The Mission Bay neighborhood is losing its industrial character rapidly. This immediate zone will be cleaned up and homogenized as part of the future home for the Warriors basketball team (2015 champs); and the interior of the neighborhood is filling with bland condos. I fear much of the San Francisco industrial areas that inspired so many Wordless Wednesday photos are not long for this world. 🙁
How sad that the places like this, which have been an inspiration to you, are disappearing. So, the Dubs are moving to San Francisco?
Change is sometimes sad and can often be okay, but it’s that “homogenization” that is the worst. So many places in America are losing their unique characteristics.
Love the starkness of the photo.
How times will forever change the skyline of a city forever. They call it progress, hum… Hope you have a wonderful week!
What a great shot – but sad that it will be gone.
I’ve witnessed many changes to the Denver skyline, as well. Some good, some not so much. At least we have a visual record of structures and times that brought us bursts of creative expression.
