If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have authorized the use of force…

Gotta give Mr. Hezbollah some credit here for admitting that a war of his choosing turned out to be a little bit more difficult than planned. It's a lot more than some other leaders have admitted about another war…

  1. true. leaders seldom admit they were wrong.

i'd just like to add though. the israeli attack had been planned for years and they were just waiting for the first convenient excuse. kidnapping soldiers on your boarder is a far lesser crime than killing a thousand people and reducing their infrastructure to ruins… obviously. kidnapping soldiers (also known as taking prisoners) on your boarder is also a far lesser crime than kidnapping civilians…

  2. thanks for the comments.

I can't really speak to whther the Israelis planned this war or not. I am sorry for what happened to the people and the infrastructure in Lebanon – I really wish that didn't happen and think it was not the right response. You may have read in my other posts my sympathy for the animals in Lebanon and for the people who care for them. I understand that there are people in Israel questioning the conduct of the war and we'll see how that plays out…

in the meantime, I'll continue my appropriately sardonic comments on leaders, whether in the U.S. or elswhere – and that was the real point of this article.
