As our friends back in New York endure yet another nasty winter storm, I look back fondly on my most recent trip in late November. The leaves and the colors of the rusty metal all say “autumn.”
Looks like some heavy labor was about to happen. I hope they got it finished before the snowstorms.
Looks messy, but at least some street work is done ! Which would be very necessary here too.
The man on my WW is my son with grandson. He carries him around like an African mother working on a field !
Oh my goodness, it’s as messy as Kuala Lumpur!
The colors do indeed say autumn. Nice.
Hopefully they have finished! Here we have had street construction going on since last Spring! Great pic though, and I too appreciate the Autumn colours Happy WW
It makes me worried that everything is so rusty!
Great shot of the real deal of gritty work!
Is there ever a time in New York when construction supplies are not piled up around every corner?
Amazing shot! You managed to tell a full and rich story with your composition and the rich but muted (autumn) colour management is amazing.
Great shot.
You are a great photographer – ordinarily, this scene would look bad if you walked passed it – but the way the colors blend along with the fall leaves in this pic – you did a great job.
Amazing how progress comes out of so much rust LOL.

Ugh.. construction construction construction. There is a lot of that around here. That’s NYC for ya!
Very nice composition!
I knew that looked familiar! Been so long since I seen it without snow that I forgot how our city streets look like 🙂
Happy WW!!
I love it!!
Funny how rust is an Autumn colour 😉
Today, however, we are very much like New York…white!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahahaha
I love how the metal put on its very best rust to coordinate with the leaves! And I love how the leaves approved and mingled! Nice shot!
Just a few manhole covers and such nobody needs anymore? New York, New York!
Looks like the city is hard at work. Has the snow covered all this up?
I see they have a season like we do here in WI… construction season! interesting photo op, & yes those are the colors of fall!
Industrial photography in NYC. Reminds me a tad of Edward Hopper. Bravo!
Wow! I bet I’ll build up some nice muscles just trying to lift those things. 🙂
Cool capture! I love all the different textures and shapes.
So much better than all this snow I totally agree! Happy WW to you!
