Yes that is our famous San Francisco fog, which is especially thick in the western neighborhoods where this photo was taken.

Even without the fog it looks like the street just drops into nothingness. On a clear day it must be a gorgeous view. Not much beats S.F. on clear days.
I like the way the cables form abstract patterns in the sky!
