1. The #7 (Flushing) subway line as it passes over a rather tall, rather elaborate, and rather decayed elevated structure in the Long Island City section of Queens in New York City.

2. That’s a lot of metal. I can imagine the rattle it causes when the train goes by.

4. @avcr8teur yes, it does rattle. The elevated subway tracks in New York are infamous for being loud and clangorous.

7. such an old classic structure. You really never see these anymore. Most have been replaced

19. Great shot! I’ve always been sort of nervous walking around the El … that thing rattles and shakes like there’s no tomorrow!

20. I, too, wondered about the rumble one might hear and feel if standing nearby as a train rolled over. Clangorous… good word!!! I can “hear” it!
