Weekend Cat Blogging with Luna

We at CatSynth are looking forward to a quiet and sunny weekend. Here we see Luna enjoying her morning sunshine patches:

The crispness of the filter and the lines and tones around Luna make for a particularly elegant and sophisticated image.

Our primary agenda for this weekend is to relax. And while that involves a fair amount of lying around (especially for Luna), it also includes some time outside, going to see art and making music without any particular agenda in mind.

The Carnival of the Cats will be hosted this Sunday by Samantha, Clementine and Maverick.

CatSynth video: Serge modular * Dubstep

From TQDOQ on YouTube, via matrxsynth. See if you can spot the cat.

This is the way we do it in Japan. Dubstep music using TRAKTOR and a
vintage design Serge Modular synthesizer.
Syncing is accomplished over Wi-Fi MIDI clock, with TRAKTOR as the
master and Ableton Live as slave. Latency is compensated “on the
fudge”.

This set up is being ported to local clubs in Tokyo, where the DJ
lives. The cat “nyamu” lives in a tower, inside the studio…

Weekend Cat Blogging and Photo Hunt: Quirky

We usually present Luna in an elegant or creative manner, but for this week’s Photo Hunt theme of Quirky, it is an opportunity to present her quirky goofy side. That is particularly visible when she gets a new scratcher and fresh catnip:

As one can see, she is quite happy and blissful, though perhaps a bit less dignified than usual.

The Saturday Photohunt is up. This week’s theme is Quirky.

The Carnival of the Cats will be up this Sunday at Mind of Mog.

CatSynth pic: Mandarina and modules

From Travis Johns via the CatSynth Facebook page.

Mandarina “assisting” with some modules – March is the hottest month in Costa Rica and my studio is on the second floor of a building with a metal roof so daytime temperatures render it unusable – so I’ve been bringing work home with me in order to work at night when the temp’s a little more bearable. Unfortunately, there’s usually a certain orange snag to that plan. The modules themselves are from a class I’m teaching called TicoTronics – teaching basic electronics and circuit design via open source synth schematics, modified to use only components common to Costa Rica. Weekend Cat Blogging with Luna: Works of Art

Coming downstairs a couple of days ago, I saw Luna posing exactly like this next to a sculpture and quickly snapped a photo:

As we have often shown on these pages, there are ample opportunities to Luna to pose with artwork here at CatSynth HQ, but this pose was exceptionally regal. I sometimes wonder if she is conscious of her poses (at least from the perspective of a cat).

This was the Instagram version of the photo. If you are on Instagram, you are welcome to follow as at catsynth.

The Carnival of the Cats will be up tomorrow at the newly redesigned Opinionated Pussycat.
