Cats, alternate music controllers and tunings collide in this video on YouTube, via matrixsynth:
C-Thru Music has lent me this keyboard, called the AXIS, for a few months, and I am rearranging the keys for the Bohlen-Pierce Scale, a macrotuning based on a 3/1 frequency ratio, divided by 13 equal steps. See http://www.ziaspace.com/elaine/BP for research on the BP Scale. This particular AXIS toured with the Lionel Richie Band on loan, went to me, and in two weeks I will be flying to Boston to give this AXIS to the Berklee College of Music, Synthesis Department – namely to Dr. Boulanger who will use it for his classes and for the new microtonal club. I teach Electronic Music at Scottsdale Community College. Come join the fun!
We have discussed the BP (Bohlen-Pierce) scale here at CatSynth in the past (and reviewed a piece by John R Pierce SF Tape Music Festival).
You read more about the C-Thru Music AXiS. It’s another interesting controller that I haven’t had the opportunity yet to try out.

Actually we have seen Tali and the Serge modular before.
As a bonus, another poster of Tali in the studio that Luna might appreciate:
from g, via matrixsynth:
“Here is my late Cat, Sid… he loved hanging out with me when I worked on the synth, and also patch cables were one of his good games 😉
Sid-Charlot:
Mar 1996-
Sep 2008”
We at CatSynth send our thoughts for Sid’s family. As matrix says: “Cats and pets in general are the few things in life that unconditionally have your back, through the good and the bad times.”
Unconditional love and hanging out together while working on the studio. What more could one ask for?

How could a miss a cat named Soma? 🙂
Check out more Cats on Tuesday. And C-O-T visitors may enjoy our recent post on Cats of China.
From Davide, via matrixsynth:
The synth under the cat is a pretty rare 12DCO Italian polysynth from the eighties [Solton Project 100]…. The cat is Pallina (little ball).
The blue details on the synth and in the background fit perfectly with the site theme of CatSynth, do they not?
From the same post, I also noticed this model from MFB:
The Kraftzwerg from MFB, a pre-patched but completely re-patchable mono analog beast (3 osc, a beautiful double LFO and a very nice sounding 24db VCF). The Kraftzwerg is REALLY the assembly of the modules from MFB so you are not going to loose any of the modulation possibilities.
From an auction, via matrixsynth:
(The original post has a larger pic of the synth)
This ETI Synthesizer project was built around 1979 by my father, the modules all worked when I powered them up recently (the original keyboard and power supply is not available due to someone connecting the mains to a +/- 12Volt input!) The modules consist of :
4 x VCOs
2 x VCFs
2 x VC Variable state filters
1 x Reverb unit
1 x VCLFO
2 x VC Mixers
1 x Noise/Sample & Hold module
1 x DRF
1 x Ring Modulator
2 x Dual ADSR modules
2 x Dual VCAs
1 x Dual Envelope Generator
1 x VC Envelope Generator
1 x D-A Convertor
1 PA (not tested)
From beatfreakradio on YouTube, via matrixsynth:
“Charlie walks on the keyboard and runs away as soon as I press another key.”
