Big Merp reminds everyone to keep kitties and other pets safely indoors on this July 4th holiday, as fireworks can be very frightening and confusing.

Tuna, Novation Bass Station, Yamaha DX7

Tuna naps atop a Novation Bass Station and a Yamaha DX7. From thedigitalpurrgatory on Instagram.
Tuna reclaiming his spot.
Presumably, Tuna is reclaiming from Sora, whom we saw napping on this same Bass Station a week ago. We at CatSynth know this territorial rivalry all too well, as Sam Sam and Big Merp are constantly vying for territory and resources (i.e., they are being cats).
Kamal Sabran and Cat in the Studio
We always love checking with Kamal Sabran and his cats – and we love cats in the studio. But sometimes things don’t go as planned. Watch to the end 😹
Wordless Wednesday: Purple House

Bright purple building at the intersection of Market Street and Waller Street in San Franciso. It just so happens to be the SF LGBT Center, all decked out for Pride.
Toro Meets Tiger
Monty and Nord

Monty is getting ready to play some electric piano on his Nord keyboard. From our friend Dave Newhouse (The Muffins, Moon X, and numerous other musical collaborations).
Monty helping with some keyboard tracks for Michael Bass and my collaboration album. (I especially like Monty’s Fender Rhodes sound on this one.)
You can see our interview with Dave Newhouse and Jerry King below.

Sora and Novation Bass Station

Sora has found a nice napping spot atop this Novation Bass Station.

Sora loves a good Bass Station.
Wordless Wednesday: Microcosmic

A space-age-looking kinetic sculpture at a station along the new T line extension in San Francisco. The sculpture, titled Microcosmic, was created by Santa-Cruz-based artist Moto Ohtake. Besides being interesting in itself, it’s also cool because I have a commissioned piece by Ohtake here at CatSynth HQ!
Nico, Alesis Electronic Drums and Guitars

Nico is the sibling of Hookah the Cat. He prefers electronic drums like the Alesis set we see in this photo. We also see an array of guitars on the wall and some plush animals – Nico fits right in with that arrangement.
Submitted by Darren Douglas Danahy via our Facebook page.
Nico prefers electronic drums and guitars to synthesizers, so I’m not sure if he qualifies for CatSynth – but he does have adoring fans as you can see.
He certainly does and we’re happy to welcome him here at CatSynth. And there is one more little fun fact about him:
Nico likes to steal the drum sticks and hide them from me
Molly, Meris Delay Polymoon, Pladask Baklengs, Strymon El Capistan

Adorable kitten Molly is starting young with her effects pedals. She has a Merris Delay Polymoon, Pladask Baklengs granular effect, and Strymon El Capistan tape echo. From Flavigula on Mastodon.
