Weekend Cat Blogging with Sam Sam

The weather is dreary and we at CatSynth are tired. So the best thing to do is curl up and relax.

There is a lot we can learn from Sam Sam’s example of napping in the face of fatigue or cold.

Today I am more tired than usual, but for good reasons. We had a successful Pitta of the Mind show last night. It was all new pieces and the performance went off without a hitch – except for my psychedelic lighting unit not switching on – but we ran with it and had a great audience experience. Today, we simply take it easy and figure out what’s next.

This is the goal, other than exercise, mental exploration, and creative pursuits. There is another performance tomorrow (an improv duo), but other than that we should be largely on our own. Something I think Sam Sam appreciates.

We hope you all have a good weekend, wherever you are, whatever you do, and however the weather is treating you.

This cat a nice cushy napping spot next to an Access Virus TI Polar or WhiteOut Edition. Submitted by Vahakn Ma‎ via our Facebook page.

Just a regular synthcat….

Well, every “regular synthcat” that appears on CatSynth is special 😺. But this cat also has an interesting synth. This appears to be a Virus TI Polar Edition – white-on-white.

You can hear Ma’s music as Harky DJ here.

CatSynth Pic: Shadow and Brodie

Remember our pals Shadow and Brodie? Well, we have another photo of them honing electronic music skills. Via Shadow’s Facebook page.

Sadly, Shadow passed away in February. This is heartbreaking news, and our thoughts and condolences go out to his humans, as well as his feline brother who must miss him dearly.

CatSynth Pic: Isosceles and Roland Sound Canvas

Meet Isosceles the cat, who sits atop a Roland Sound Canvas synth module. Submitted by Carl Peczynski via our Facebook page.

Roland Sound Canvas modules were pretty common in the 1990s. I had a Roland SC-7, which functioned as an outboard synth for my Windows PC at the time. It’s pretty still somewhere in storage at CatSynth HQ.
