Cat in the Studio (Behringer, Modular and more)

The white cat from Kamal Sabran’s studio returns. We see a Behringer Poly D and DeepMind, sundry modular, and a lot of beautiful retro gear including reel-to-reel tape recorders. A microKORG appears to be stacked in the lower-left corner.

⚡️new film score / kambing soon 🐐

CatSynth Pic: White Cat and Massive Modular

A beautiful white cat poses in front of a massive modular system. We familiar offerings from Rossum Electro-music, Make Noise, Mutable Instruments, Intellijel, TipTop Audio, and SSF. We also see Random Source “EuroSerge” modules; and some less common models from Catalyst Audio, Ciat Lombarde, and Mystic Circuits. And there is more that we weren’t able to identify right away. This cat has a truly impressive setup.

Moose with Make Noise 0-Coast and 0-Ctrl

Moose has found a nice spot behind the Make Noise 0-Coast and 0-Ctrl semi-modular synthesizers. Submitted by Galen Disston via our Facebook page.

Moose is putting together a sequence on the 0-Ctrl.

The 0-Ctrl and 0-Coast are quite a pair, a real-time sequencer control surface to go with a very playable semi-modular synth. We know Moose and his human are going to have a lot of fun making music with them.

CatSynth Video: Cat Sound Bath Research #3

Beautiful and hypnotic “sound path” performance from Kamal Sabran. The kitten seems very relaxed and content listening to it, as do I.

We see an Arturia Microbrute, Kaoss pad, and a wide variety of items including a classic reel-to-reel tape recorder, circuit toys, analog oscilloscope, and more. You can see a previous post from Kamal Sabran here.

CatSynth Pic: Roland JD-Xi

Beautiful white cat with Roland JD-Xi synthesizer. Submitted by André Luiz via our Facebook page.

The JD-Xi is a small affordable synth that includes analog modeling, PCM-based sounds, and a vocoder. It seems in some ways similar to a couple of the Boutique line, though its interface is closer to that of the AIRA line. We at CatSynth are particularly curious about the vocoder features…

CatSynth Pic: Crumar Bit 99, Roland Juno 106, Korg MS-20, Metasonix, and More

White cat with a Crumar Bit 99, Roland Juno 106, Korg MS-20, and modules from Doepfer, Metasonix, and more.

A beautiful white cat sits atop a Crumar Bit 99 synthesizer, and beneath a Roland Juno 106 and Korg MS-20. We also see some Eurorack modules, including some Doepfer and a Metasonix yellow module – most likely an R-53 like the one sitting near me as I write this.

CatSynth Pic: Sawa Masaki (DSI Pro 2)

We start off the week with this lovely picture featuring one of the cats on Sawa Masaki’s Twitter and a DSI/Sequential Pro 2.

It is probably not a coincidence that earlier the same say, Sequential announced that they would be discontinuing the Pro 2.
