Very calming and captivating. The cat things so, too.
Watch all the way through to see the cat get scritches.

A sweet moment with a cat napping on a Polyend Tracker. From legowelt_official on Instagram.
The Polyend Tracker is getting quite a bit of attention recently. It is perhaps nostalgia for the “trackers” of the 1990s, with the text-based grid sequencer, but also many modern additions. I could see it being integrated with a MIDI+Eurorack setup (along with cats, of course).

It’s #GeminiSeason and 2020 Oram Awardee Loula Yorke has just released on her @bandcamp page ‘Gemini’ a piece of sparkling ephemera to celebrate her birthday.
The track will disappear after 24 hours starting from today.
If you’d like to show her some support, listen/buy this twin oscillator jam track!

Sadly we missed this ephemeral track, but please do check out Loula Yorke’s bandcamp page for some more intriguing music. Here is a sampling from her album Crowd Control.
I love this! A maneki-neko turned into a DIY electronic musical instrument. I need to make one of these and will definitely be following up with the creators and curators for more. I do regret not seeing this in person as it was at the Center for New Music here in San Francisco, but this was 2020 and we know how that was.
Fortunately, we can all see some scenes from this video show via this link.
Tuna found a nice napping spot on a Korg Poly-800. Submitted by thedigitalpurrgatory via our Instagram.
The Korg Poly-800 was a small affordable synthesizer that featured DCOs, a VCF, and MIDI. Its successor, the Korg Poly-800 II, was one of the first synthesizers I seriously looked at as a teen, but ultimately opted for a different instrument.

Identification of the synths left as an exercise to the reader.
This kitten performs a semi-tonal improvisation with string sounds. From [LEL TV] Strange Musician Life on YouTube.
This cat has a pretty awesome Metasonix setup, with several yellow modules and stomp. We also see offerings from Qu-Bit and Native Instruments.

Here’s some UAC (light combat) stuff!
The main synths are running through several parallel stages of distortion (tube+solid state), waveshaping, heavy compression and harmonic saturation.💀

The cat, on the other hand, isn’t running through anything and is completely unprocessed! 🐁
Speaking of the cat, notice how he’s watching my every move, like he’s learning.
I’m convinced he’s plotting to take over my career one day! 🤔
A young Tweek sits beyond an Arturia MiniBrute analog synthesizer (original edition) and OTO Biscuit 8-bit effects processor. A fine combination of cats and synths in a moody black-and-white photo.
