Pumpkin has an impressive set of vintage synthesizers, including the Roland System 100 modular, Roland TR-808 drum machine, ARP Odyssey, and Korg MS-10. From Lowfish on Twitter.

Bread with Yamaha DX100 and DX7

Bread is back, and this time he is playing two of Yamaha’s classic FM instruments, the legendary DX7, and the smaller DX100. From thedigitalpurrgatory via Instagram.

Bread likes his frequencies modulated.

The DX100 is a four-operator FM synthesizer, similar to the DX27 and DX21, but lacking the extended features of the TX81Z. The DX7 is, of course, the six-operator FM workhorse of its era, and the most well-known of the entire line.

Intrepid reader @EvanUnoArt on Twitter found this amazing video from 2019. It was originally published by QRTR on Twitter as “a sunday morning meditation” [sic]. They also published the music as a track on Bandcamp 😺

Haku and Behringer CAT

It’s always extra fun to have a “CatSynth Pic” with a “Cat Synth”. Haku inspects the Behringer CAT, a remake of the infamous Octave CAT. From eriksuperlazy on Instagram.

Introducing Newt of the Rock Cats

Newt is the newest member of the Rock Cats that tour with the Amazing Acro Cats. He succeeds the late great Nue as the band’s keyboardist.

You may recall the Acro Cats from previous posts – we always make a point to go see them when they’re in town – and we even had the opportunity to talk to founder Samantha Martin for CatSynth TV.

Albert with Korg Electribe, Roland SH-101, Elektron Digitone, more

Albert has found a nice sunny spot in the studio. We see a Roland SH-101, Korg Eletribe, and Elektron Digitone next to him. It appears that he is sitting on a Roland TB-303 (or similar) with a dark panel, and another rhythm machine.

My best effort as translation:

The Casio SK-8 is one of the rarer members of the SK series. It has similar ROM sounds and rhythms, and a lo-fi sampler. It also has some drum pads, which are a nice touch. It would seem to have been geared toward the educational market, as it has LEDs that light up above the keys. More details can be found here.
