Drum KAT Cat

Meiko gets ready to lay down some rhythms on the Drum KAT. From our friend Charles Whiley.

You can see Meiko’s previous appearances here, and all of Charles’ contributions to CatSynth here.

The Drum KAT has long been a fixture in the world of MIDI percussion. I remember the rectangular pad with “Mickey Mouse ears”, as well as the KAT Mallet and the “MIDI Kiti” that converted external triggers to MIDI, something that would still be valuable today with the proliferation of CV, modular, and alternative sensors for making music.

Moose with Make Noise 0-Coast and 0-Ctrl

Moose has found a nice spot behind the Make Noise 0-Coast and 0-Ctrl semi-modular synthesizers. Submitted by Galen Disston via our Facebook page.

Moose is putting together a sequence on the 0-Ctrl.

The 0-Ctrl and 0-Coast are quite a pair, a real-time sequencer control surface to go with a very playable semi-modular synth. We know Moose and his human are going to have a lot of fun making music with them.

CatSynth Pic: Roland, Moog, Waldorf, Korg, Arturia, and More

This cat sits proudly atop a four-level stand of keyboard synths. On Row 3 (below the cat), we see a Waldorf Blofeld and Moog Little Phatty Stage Edition. Below that a RolandJX-8P and Korg MS-20. On the bottom row is another Roland keyboard. And on top, the cat’s paws are sitting on an Arturia Spark. The instruments behind the cat are left as an exercise to the reader.
